The Editors

Unit Editions' latest book, Type Only, looks at a current trend in contemporary typography: the use of type without support from illustration or photography. There are many more examples of this 'type only' approach than we could fit in the printed book, and that's why we are starting an online archive.

If you have created projects that qualify as 'type only' (it can be unpublished, experimental work), or if you want to put forward someone else's work, please email us with hi-res artwork files, photographs or links (at least 1000px wide and tiffs/pdfs/jpgs).

Send your submission(s) to typeonly@uniteditions.com with 'Type Only submission' as subject header. It would be helpful if you can supply caption info:

– Title
– Submitted by (+ url)
– Designed by (+ url)
– Format (poster, book cover, etc.) – if photographed in public space, the location of photograph and photographer – if found online, the source and url
– Date

All submissions will be vetted and a selection of the best will be published on the Type Only tumblr (which will also feature examples that our team has found), and on the Unit Editions blog.

[Update on 6 August 2013]
Thanks everyone for your numerous submissions! Please keep them coming and we will keep the blog running as long as possible. If you have already submitted keep us up to date with new work, or send us typographic pieces from someone you admire.
